about

This is a companion volume to Twelve Reveries in that the pieces were created at the same time. But where Twelve Reveries collects a series of improvisations, Seven Memories is a cycle of compositions, all of which were used as scores for other works: one film, one game and two audio books.

Though used for different end projects, what binds the pieces together is a common line of inquiry. I was looking for the sound that long-forgotten memories make when unexpectedly stirred. You catch the most fleeting of glimpses. An old thought echoing in an empty room. Did we visit this part of the forest together, decades ago? It's hard to know for sure, or remember fully. But your mood is changed, perhaps for good.

Recorded in Paris between 2012 and 2015.
Cover photography by Emilia Badin - with love and thanks.
